The International Center of Worcester (ICW) is a nonprofit nonpartisan membership organization promoting Citizen Diplomacy in Central Massachusetts. Our more than 150 members are motivated by their interest in international affairs.
The International Center of Worcester designs professional and cultural programs for international visitors sponsored by local and foreign governmental and non-governmental agencies, private companies, universities and individuals.
ICW is part of a nationwide network of centers for international visitors that are members of Global Ties U.S. in Washington, D.C.
We have an exclusive partnership with the U.S. Department of State International Visitor Leadership Program. We partner with USAID to conduct Community Connections Program and The Open World Leadership Center at the Library of Congress to bring current and emerging leaders, under Open World Leadership Program, to Central Massachusetts.
ICW has successfully hosting business and professional groups, providing visitors with professional hands-on experiences, home stays, and exposure to American life and culture. Programs have included a meaningful combination of professional enrichment activities including lectures, site visits and, for business visitors, job-shadowing and internships. With an emphasis on action planning and results-oriented outcomes, we have ensured that visitors gain valuable transferable skills that make difference when they return home.
"All Americans have an ambassadorial responsibility when it comes to greeting visitors from foreign nations and making them feel at home in our country"
-Former President Ronald Reagan
We build person-to-person relationships promoting citizen diplomacy "one handshake at a time".
